Aliki van der Kruijs:
Aliki van der Kruijs is a Dutch artist and designer.
Aliki works with a conceptual approach in various fields of art and design.For every commissioned or autonomous project Aliki investigates which material to use as medium to highlight the relations between people, nature and space. Her work method involves carefully planned manufacturing however integrating a certain uncontrolled ‘natural’ element in which the coincidence is programmed, leading to a collection of tactile projects and works.The question ‘How to wear the weather’ resulted in the project Made by Rain for where she invented a technique to make it possible to imprint rain on textile.
Claudy Jongstra is a Dutch textile designer. She makes ecologic responsible artworks.
The moment she graduated from the ‘Hogeschool voor de Kunsten’ in Utrecht (1977) she put her all focus on felt, a then unpopulair fabric.
Claudy has her own sheep, which she shaves herself. She also paints the wool by herself with purely natural products.
Dutch designer Mae Engelgeer attended the Amsterdam Fashion Instituut where she specialized in textile design, graduating in 2004. Later she was accepted to the prestigious Master Course in Applied Arts at the Sandberg Instituut and developed her first collection of textiles at TextielLab. In 2014 Engelgeer opened her own studio in Amsterdam, working on product design and development, installations, and international collaborations. Mae Engelgeer’s work has been exhibited at a number of international design galleries and fairs and sold in design stores worldwide.
